Soprano Cornet – Connor Lennon

Connor  started  playing  the  trumpet  at  the  age  of  10 through  the  Bolton  Music  Service  under  the  tutelage  of Helen  Minshall  and  Richard  Poole.  In  2009,  Connor  was given  the  opportunity  to  move  to  the  soprano  cornet  in Bolton Youth Brass Band.  After a year learning his trade he joined the Poulton-Le-Fylde Brass Band on soprano, before moving to study at Huddersfield University to study with Mike Woodhead and Phillip McCann.

Since moving to Yorkshire,  Connor has played soprano for many top Bands and in September 2017 he won the prestigious Brian Evans Memorial Trophy for the best soprano cornet at the British Open Championships. In April 2018, Connor joined The Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band and is thoroughly enjoying his time in the purple jacket.
