This year’s autumn spectacular features the best of music reflecting the eras of the two world wars and the celebrations of peace that followed. Out of trauma came music to inspire and entertain the Nation and the next concert – ‘CELEBRATION and REMEMBRANCE’ – allows Conductor Dr. David Thornton the opportunity to showcase a great selection of well known pieces to make for a memorable and uplifting evening.

To be held as usual within the splendours of Huddersfield Town Hall, the concert is on Sat. 27th October 7-15 p.m.

Guest performers are The GUS Band, Midland Champions for the last five years, who continue the great legacy of the Munn & Felton Footwear Co. whose families launched the band in 1933, quickly fulfilling every ambition. Such was their standard and stability that they were invited to Huddersfield by B. & R. three times between 1955 and 1972 and on every occasion played their own items under the same conductor, the legend Stanley Boddington.

Tickets for this eagerly awaited concert are available in person from Huddersfield Central and Holmfirth Libraries also Dewsbury Town Hall. Box Office tel. 01484 225755 or online at www.kirkleestownhalls.co.uk (following ‘Huddersfield’ links).
