The Brighouse and Rastrick band are delighted to announce the return of trombone player Ellena Newton.
Not only is Ellena coming back to B&R after taking 6 months maternity leave, she is also stepping up to the Solo Trombone seat after 4 years on 2nd Trombone with the band. Ellena is currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tuition of Roger Cutts and is already making a name for herself as one of the country’s leading trombone players. She will now be stepping in to the shoes of her fiancé Ryan as he looks to focus on his conducting and teaching career.
Commenting on her new position at B&R, Ellena said “I am absolutely delighted to be returning to Brighouse and Rastrick on solo trombone. After an amazing 4 years on 2nd trombone it’s a privilege to be taking this next step and I am excited for what the future holds.”
Brighouse and Rastrick are absolutely thrilled to be welcoming Ellena back to the bandroom, and are excited for what will hopefully be a long and successful relationship. Ellena’s first rehearsal was last Monday and her first concert appearance will be on Saturday in Hull City Hall.
