It has been another exciting week at Brighouse & Rastrick HQ following their high quality showing at the British Open, with another celebrity link up and exciting new project in the bag already.

This time the band were delighted to welcome the countries favourite Choirmaster Gareth Malone OBE, who’s new album ‘A very British Christmas’ is a collaboration of artists from across the UK.  B&R will feature on the track ‘Paradise Street’ which will be sang by Kaiser Chiefs front man Ricky Wilson and Gareth’s own choir, Voices.

“We received an email around 4 weeks ago asking if we would be interested in working with Decca Records and Gareth on ‘A very British Christmas’.  Of course we immediately accepted the opportunity despite the busy schedule and working with Gareth was a fantastic experience.  Click track recordings with piano are never easy, and due to the Open the first time we saw the music was on the night, but Leigh Bakers arrangement worked a treat and the band were as professional as always”.

The Band will no doubt be crossing their fingers that Gareth’s track record of Christmas chart success will ensure that brass bands have their place in the public eye this Christmas, the album is out on the 2nd December.
