Brighouse & Rastrick Band are thrilled to face a unique end to their banding season with appearances at the seismic ‘Carfest’ events in both the North and South of England. Courtesy of BBC’s Chris Evans, they are honoured to be appearing at Bolesworth Castle, Cheshire on 30 July and Overton, Hampshire on 27 August, contributing both to the entertainment of many thousands but also to the ever-worthy ‘Children in Need’ efforts. To line up with names such as The Corrs, The Proclaimers, James Morrison, Rick Astley and Stereophonics will surely prove an exhilarating experience.

They will (hopefully) then be back down to earth for the serious autumn national contest season before preparing for their next local concert in the re-opened Huddersfield Town Hall on 22 October. There ‘B & R’ are joined by another giant of the world of brass in Grimethorpe Colliery Band for their Autumn Massed Bands event which is sure to be a big crowd puller. With a reprise of the hugely popular ‘Stage and Screen’ theme there will be well known music for all tastes under the baton of former ‘B & R’ man Dr Robert Childs. Tickets will first be on open sale on Saturday 27 August, at Ryecorn Wholefoods, Bethel St., Brighouse but in the meantime can be ordered direct from the band by ‘phoning local numbers (01484) 661041 or 718835.
