Last Saturday, B&R celebrated in true purple style at the annual band dinner.

The band had a wonderful evening at the Waterfront Hotel and Venue in Brighouse, where they were joined by family, friends and supporters to look back on a busy, but successful 2019.

It was, as always, a fantastic event and a great way to round off the year. The band enjoyed a fabulous meal, had the chance to listen back to some highlights of their performances from the year, and presented awards to members of the band for their notable contributions.

The band voted for their player of the year and bandsman of the year, which were awarded to Chris Robertson and Andy Moore respectively. Congratulations to both Chris and Andy for their outstanding contributions over the year. Professor David King presented the award for his player of the year via video link all the way from Australia. This year, that award went to bass trombone player Stephen Lomas for some excellent performances on both the contest and concert stages. There were also some more light hearted awards, including the best section, which was awarded to the Bass section and best newcomer, which went to Charlotte Horsefield.

Take a look at the gallery for some pictures from the evening, taken by Gordon Ratcliffe, including pictures of all of our award winners.
